Proxinse, a system provider focusing on the field of minimally invasive surgical endoscopy cameras, recently completed A round of financing. This round of financing was led by Yueke Financial Group, followed by Shenzhen High-tech Investment and Zhongshan Torch Huaying Investment. Probe Capital served as the exclusive financial advisor for this round. It is reported that this round of financing will be mainly used to expand the core R&D team, improve product layout, and increase market investment.

Proxinse was established in 2017 and is located in Shenzhen Biomedical Innovation Industrial Park. The founders of the company are all from first-class universities and medical equipment companies at home and abroad, and have been deeply involved in the field of endoscopy for decades. Relying on the founding team’s accumulated experience in image/video algorithms, software and hardware development, marketing management and other aspects, the company independently developed electronic mirrors, image processing motherboard modules and other components, reducing the dependence on overseas suppliers.

Not only that, in the face of the blue ocean market where high-end endoscopes are imported and replaced, the company closely follows the policy of localization of endoscopes and is committed to providing domestically produced 3D+fluorescence+4K endoscope integrated equipment. In June 2022, the company’s core product 3D electronic laparoscope has officially obtained the registration certificate and is expected to be quickly put into market application. Proxinse ushered in a critical year of rapid development.

With the increase in the penetration rate of minimally invasive surgery and the increasing demand for early cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment, the use of endoscopy in clinical diagnosis and treatment is increasing, and it is gradually being applied to a wider range of clinical scenarios. Since 2015, policies related to innovative medical devices have also been introduced one after another, promoting innovation and breakthroughs in local medical devices, and at the same time accelerating the process of domestic substitution in endoscopy and other industries, and the domestic endoscopy market has become more open.

Since the early endoscope products can only provide two-dimensional plane images, doctors need to estimate the distance between the anatomical area and the surgical instruments by the movement and size of the endoscope, which cannot be used in complex operations, and the scope of use is limited. At the same time, 2D images only provide surface information and lack depth information. Doctors cannot observe the relative depth information between various organs and the positional relationship between the internal tissue structures of the human body, which greatly increases the risk of surgery. The clinical demand for 3D endoscopy is obvious. Due to its higher resolution, visual acuity, and color resolution, the 4K ultra-high-definition endoscope can truly reproduce the images captured by the endoscope system, allowing doctors to observe the fine blood vessels, nerves and fascia layers, as well as traditional high-definition endoscopic images. The details of the lesion area and biopsy site that are difficult to be explored by microscope can provide doctors with a better sense of depth observation and operation during operation. Doctors need clearer, more three-dimensional (three-dimensional) image information with more parameters to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and treatment. Patients need safe, painless, and timely feedback endoscopic diagnosis and treatment. Under the demand, the combination of 4K ultra-clear and 3D stereoscopic image technology has become the mainstream.

It is understood that the 3D electronic abdominal endoscope independently developed by Proxinse has certain advantages in clinical image quality, ease of use and safety, and the price is lower than that of imported brands. In terms of user experience requirements, Proxinse continues to iterate its products in the two directions of higher resolution and functional integration. The company expects to launch a new 3D+fluorescence product next year, as an important innovation in domestic 3D laparoscopy equipment.
